When your dog's back legs start letting them down, this gives them back. A padded sling sits under the hind quarters and carries the weight, so your dog keeps walking on their own four legs — and you're not lifting a whole dog off the floor every time.

What makes it work

Takes the weight, not the walk. The padded panel cradles the belly just ahead of the back legs, so your dog still sets the pace — you're only sharing the load.
Synthetic wool lining. The inner face is soft fleece, so nothing digs in on longer walks or through thin coats.
Padded, non-slip handle. Comfortable in one hand, and the sleeve slides off so you can wash it.

Fitting it — four steps

Unfold the sling and lay the straps out flat.
Slide the padded panel under your dog's belly, just in front of the back legs.
Pull the strap adjusters until the handle sits at a comfortable height for you.
Take the padded handle and lift gently. Let your dog walk — you're supporting, not carrying.

The towel under the belly

It is what most of us reach for first, and it does the job for a while. But a towel has no fixed handle and nothing holding it in place, so it slides along the body and you end up gripping tighter and lower than you meant to — usually on the stairs, usually in a hurry.

A rear-support sling

The panel is shaped to stay put under the hips, and the handle is fixed where your hand already is. One steady place to lift from, at a height you set, so your dog keeps walking while you carry some of the weight.

My dog cannot stand up at all. Will this be enough?
