Jazi began with my grandmother's coat. She wore it through two London winters before I was born, and somehow it was still hanging in her wardrobe forty years on — the wool gone soft at the elbows, the seams holding, the cut as quietly elegant as the day she bought it. I used to think that coat was simply old. It took me years to understand it was the opposite. It had never needed replacing.

I spent the early part of my career inside an industry built on the reverse — collections made to be forgotten within a season, pieces designed to hold together just long enough that you'd buy the next one. It worked, in the way these things work. It never sat right.

Jazi is what happened when I stopped trying to make peace with that and started asking a different question: what would it take to make something my own grandchildren might still be wearing.

We make fewer pieces than we could. We choose fabric for how it ages, not how it photographs on day one. Every garment is held to the standard of that coat — considered enough to last, honest enough that you never have to wonder why it cost what it did.

This was never going to be a brand built to be loud. It was always going to be one built to be there. On the hundredth wear, the same as the first.
